In 2014, there is no shortage of good ecommerce-related information for small business owners. Whether one is looking for new business ideas, tips on how to improve ecommerce sales, or even information about how to display products online, resources abound.

With this in mind, I thought I would share with you some of the YouTube Channels that I watch to stay up to date, if you will, with what is going on in ecommerce, retailing, and related industries. What follows are, in my opinion, the nine YouTube channels ecommerce entrepreneurs should watch in 2014. This list, by the way, has been updated from my 2013 edition.

Volusion’s YouTube Channel

Volusion makes a premiere software-as-a-solution (SaaS) ecommerce platform provider. The company also has a very good YouTube Channel. You’ll find some videos that simply promote the company’s products, but among these is a real gem of a series called, Two Minute Tuesday, starring Matt Winn.

Winn shares practical and actionable advice that is certainly worth the time.

Bigcommerce’s YouTube Channel

Bigcommerce, like Volusion above, was also on my 2013 list of worthy ecommerce-related YouTube channels. The company, as one might expect, certainly has videos related specifically to its platform, but it also gives sound advice that any retail entrepreneur will appreciate.

The National Retail Federation’s YouTube Channel

The NRF is the American retail industry’s trade association. The organization’s channel features many videos related to retailing from a physical store. Nonetheless, the videos can be very educational.

Shopify’s YouTube Channel

New to my list of ecommerce-related channels small business owners should follow is the Shopify YouTube channel. Shopify has a pretty eclectic collection of videos, including some devoted specifically to its own platform and marketing. But there are also a lot of videos with good general ecommerce and retail business information. You may also find that some of the videos cover topics related to make the click-to-brick or brick-to-click expansion.

Demandware’s YouTube Channel

Demandware is a top-notch ecommerce platform maker with a vested interested in helping ecommerce business, particularly its customers succeed. In my opinion, some of the best videos on the channel are very brief case studies. Although these are really about promoting the Demandware product it is very interesting to see why various retailers chose the platform.

I also like some of the more in depth ecommerce related posts that can be found in this channel, although these sorts of videos have been relatively scarce recently.

ReelSEO’s YouTube Channel

Although not strictly aimed at ecommerce, the ReelSEO channel focuses on Internet video marketing. Video is, in my opinion, one of the best ways that retailers can engage potential customers.

Google Analytics’ YouTube Channel

Google Analytics is, perhaps, one of the most common tools for measuring ecommerce conversions, site traffic, and more. This channel is a good way to learn about what is new in Analytics and how to make better use of what is already available.

Cardinal Path’s YouTube Channel

Digital marketing and training firm, Cardinal Path, posts, among other things, how to videos that can help business owners and managers learn more about Google Analytics. The company’s uploads to YouTube frequently include webinars and training videos.

Google+ Your Business YouTube Channel

Filled with general business videos, this YouTube channel is loaded with useful advice, often in the form of recorded hangouts.
